大眾傳播選校策略　

申請大眾傳播領域的學校最主要分為八大類：Advertising、Communication Studies、Integrated Marketing Communication、Public Relations、Film and Radio/ Broadcasting、Speech and Interpersonal Communication、Telecommunication，and Communication Management。而其中以 Speech and Interpersonal Communication、Communication Studies 及 Communication Management 較為理論取向，而 Broadcasting 及Film Radio申請時附上作品為佳。

近兩年最熱門的申請科系為Integrated Marketing Communication、Advertising、Public Relations 以及Communication Management。而在申請這幾類科系的時候，雖然工作經驗不是絕對必要的申請條件，但若是有相關的工作經驗將可增加自己申請上的優勢。

而提到選校策略，便不得不先了解申請該領域所須具備的留學考試分數與申請文件。一般來說，申請傳播領域排名中上的學校所要求的留學考試分數較高，TOEFL>250 ( 相當於 paper-based 600分)、GRE 的Verbal > 450-500。對於許多學校來說，托福及GRE 成績被視為是申請的門檻，若是成績未達學校要求的門檻，將失去被審核的資格，因此同學不可輕忽該科系對於考試分數的要求。而許多排名較前面的學校如Northwestern University、University of Missouri、Boston University 及U.S.C. 等學校還會額外要求essays 及Writing Samples，同學在申請時務必特別留意科系是否有額外申請文件上的要求。
